After seventeen years of professional architectural experience, Paul R. Adams, A.I.A., started Earth and Sky Architecture, LLC in order to combine his architectural practice with his expertise in environmentally sound building design. Paul uses his extensive experience and education to design dream homes in a collaborative dialog with his clients, while using the "best products the planet has to offer." This relationship provides his clients with homes that meet their needs – space, budget, visual image – while reducing the energy costs of maintaining the home and the environmental impact of building it and obtaining the necessary materials.

Mr. Adams has studied and applies environmentally sound building design. Evaluation of the energy use of a given design has been part of his continuing education. Some of his other studies include generating electricity with the sun (photovoltaics), wind and water and sustainable construction methods including straw bale and rammed earth.

Holistic design is the prime concern to Earth and Sky. Mr. Adams is proficient with state-of-the-art architectural computer aided design (CAD) and visualization tools. This allows for a flexible design process, while maintaining the highest level of accuracy. He was instrumental in establishing standards at Richmond Homes, during his eleven-year tenure, to streamline building permit submittals at eleven different metro-area building departments. His in depth knowledge of standard building practices gives him a solid base to incorporate new methods effectively.

"Customers are the most important visitors on our premises. They are not dependent on us. We are dependent on them. They are not an interruption to our work. They are the purpose of it. They are not outsiders to our business. They are a part of it. We are not doing them a favor by serving them. They are doing us a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so.
--Mahatma Gandhi
